We’re excited to announce that we’ll be playing a special gig on Friday December 18, 2015 to mark the closure of Qantas Credit Union Arena (formerly known as the Sydney Entertainment Centre).
This great venue has been the rock & roll heart of Sydney since it opened in 1983 but after the weekend of December 18/19 it will be demolished and replaced by a new arena nearby. We’ve been chosen as the last Australian act to play this great room and we promise to make it a night to remember.
Back in 1983, we played five emotion-charged farewell shows at what was then the Sydney Entertainment Centre. These were the final nights of the national Last Stand tour and remain some of our favourite-ever shows (as commemorated in the Last Stand film and live album).

We might announce other shows elsewhere in Australia earlier in 2015, but this special December 18 show at the Qantas Credit Union Arena – “The Last Stand of Sydney’s entertainment centre” – will definitely be our final gig of the year.
To mark the occasion, will perform two sets at this special gig. The first set will be a diverse mix of songs from our back catalogue as well as some new songs we’ve only recently recorded, while the second set will be made up entirely of songs from the Last Stand shows.
As a response to your feedback, we’re creating a general admission standing area directly in front of the stage, where all tickets will be only $99.90. Behind that GA space we’re building a raised seating area to ensure that those seated on the rear half of the floor will have uninterrupted views over the people standing. Tickets for these elevated seats and the premium bays directly beside the floor will be $129.90. All other tickets will be $99.90 – the same price as the band’s last shows at this venue four years ago. (Ticketing agency transaction fees will also apply).

Tickets will be available via an exclusive pre-sale for Cold Chisel newsletter subscribers on Wednesday May 6 at 10am, before they go on sale to the general public on Friday May 8 at 10am.
