Cold Chisel will play in the northern hemisphere for the first time in almost 30 years. They announced these plans in support of a new album called “No Plans” which will be released on Good Friday.
The band will be special guests of Soundgarden on July 13 at London’s premier music event “Hard Rock Calling. The other two nights in Hyde Park feature the likes of Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, John Fogerty, Jimmy Cliff and Paul Simon performing his classic album “Graceland”. Crowds of up to 75,000 people are expected for each day so it’s an extraordinary international return for Australia’s legendary rock’n’roll band.
“We’re honoured to be invited to play alongside so many legendary artists and of course we’ll be doing our best to kick their arses”, said Cold Chisel frontman, Jimmy Barnes.
Cold Chisel’s 2011 tour of Australia and New Zealand was the biggest ever by an Australian group – drawing over 300,000 people across 36 unforgettable shows.
Next week the group will return to local stages for their first of only 4 gigs which will launch “No Plans” – their first new studio album in 14 years. On Thursday April 5 they headline Bluesfest in Byron Bay before heading west to play Sandalford Estate Winery in the Swan Valley on Easter Sunday.
Very special shows at Festival Hall, Melbourne (April 12) and The Hordern Pavillion, Sydney (April 18) will be the final chances to catch the band before they head overseas in the middle of the year.
Tickets for all Australian dates are available via our tour page.
