IAN MOSS GIVEN ‘ALL CLEAR’

Cold Chisel’s Ian Moss was discharged from hospital this morning after a freak accident saw him hospitalised for a week. Last Monday, the legendary guitarist was bitten on the hand by his family’s cat, leaving the middle finger of his left hand severely infected and badly swollen. After 7 days on intravenous antibiotics, doctors have given Moss the ‘all clear’ to perform with Cold Chisel at the Hordern Pavilion this Wednesday (April 18) and Festival Hall, which has been rescheduled to this Thursday (April 19).

“I’ve heard every cat joke known to man and have been going stir crazy couped up in hospital” said Moss. “Fortunately I’ve had a guitar in my room for the last 48 hours, helping me get match fit for the shows. I can’t wait to get back on stage and slam these new songs and all of our classics.”

COLD CHISEL FORCED TO RESCHEDULE MELBOURNE SHOW

Thursday April 12 Melbourne Festival Hall Concert to Thursday April 19

Ian Moss involved in freak accident

Due to a freak accident to guitarist Ian Moss, the Cold Chisel show planned for Thursday April 12 at Festival Hall has been rescheduled to Thursday April 19. All tickets purchased are transferrable to the new show. If ticketholders are unable to attend the rescheduled show, refunds will be available from the point of purchase. Cold Chisel sincerely apologises for any inconvenience caused.

The legendary guitarist was bitten on the hand by his family’s cat late yesterday. The bite left his middle finger severely infected and badly swollen, rendering him unable to play guitar. Such is the nature of the injury that Moss is being kept in hospital on an intravenous drip. Doctors confirmed today that Moss will be unable to play this Thursday but they are optimistic that he will be fully recovered ahead of the band’s Hordern Pavilion show next Wednesday (April 18).

Cold Chisel are in the middle of a run of shows around the country to launch their new album ‘No Plans’, which hit stores on Good Friday. The band triumphantly headlined Bluesfest at Byron Bay last Thursday night to 15,000 and then played a sold-out show to 11,000 Perth fans at Sandalford Winery, Swan Valley.

Despite rescheduling the Melbourne show, Moss was in good spirits today and is confident he will be back on his feet (and hands) for the Hordern Pavilion show next Wednesday, which is being beamed via satellite to cinemas around the country by CinemaLive.

“I’m sorry to inconvenience our fans who had tickets for Thursday in Melbourne,” said Moss from his hospital bed. “It’s amazing that something like a cat bite can lead to a postponed show – that’s what happens when you call your album No Plans. Sorry to be a pussy, I look forward to making amends next week.”

I Got Things To Do

I got things to do
I don’t want to
Give me way more time to spend with you
Honey when you’re gone
You’re gone too long
It sure gets lonely when you’re gone away

If you hear me cry
Your name in the night
Baby I’m just tryin’ to find your welcome light
Well there’s only one
You’re thinkin’ of
It sure gets lonely when you’re gone away

My work is done, this is my time
And there’s someone I need to know
Maybe one day we’ll find
We won’t have no need to go

And there’s somewhere I need to go
Maybe one day we’ll find

You’re gone too long
It sure gets lonely when you’re gone away
